Tree Work in a Community With High Standards
Residents of The Villages take pride in how their neighborhoods look, and there are community rules about what a home and yard should look like. Before removing a tree or making a big change to your landscaping, check the architectural review requirements for your village. We are happy to write up what we plan to do and why, so you have the details on hand when you ask.
On the job, a few things matter more here than almost anywhere else:
- Protecting lawns and curbs. We choose equipment sized for the lot and keep heavy machines off soft turf whenever possible.
- Keeping cart paths and streets open. Golf carts are everywhere, so we stage gear and trucks to leave paths and lanes clear, and we never leave limbs in the street.
- Leaving it spotless. Every job ends with raking, blowing off driveways and a final walk-around with you.
Common Requests From Villages Homeowners
Oaks planted too close
Live oaks and laurel oaks planted when a neighborhood was new can outgrow a small lot within a couple of decades, reaching over roofs, gutters and lanai screens. Regular tree trimming keeps them in scale. When a tree is simply too large for its spot, a controlled tree removal from our bucket truck takes it down piece by piece.
Roots in the driveway
Roots that lift pavers, crack driveways or crowd foundations are a frequent complaint. Targeted root removal can relieve the problem when the tree can be kept safely.
Stumps and palms
After a removal, stump grinding takes the stump below the surface so the bed or lawn can be restored. We also trim palms and remove dead fronds before storm season.

Storms Inland Still Bring Down Trees
The Villages sits well inland, but hurricanes crossing the peninsula still bring strong winds here, and summer thunderstorms and lightning can split limbs in a moment. After a storm we cut up downed trees, clear driveways and haul away the wood through our debris removal service. Spring pruning that removes dead wood and thins heavy limbs is the best way to cut down on damage.
