A Crossroads Town That Keeps Growing
For a long time Wildwood was a railroad and truck-stop town along US-301. Its spot at the junction of I-75 and the Turnpike made it a natural place for travel and freight, and that is still true. What has changed is the amount of new construction. The Villages has expanded south of SR-44 into the Wildwood area, and new neighborhoods, medical offices and commercial sites keep appearing along SR-44 and the main corridors. Beyond the new rooftops there is still plenty of pasture, pine and oak hammock, which means a lot of land to clear before anything can be built.
Who We Work With in Wildwood
Builders and developers
New pads need trees, stumps and roots cleared so the ground can be filled and compacted. Our site preparation covers removal, stump removal and haul-off, and we can follow with land leveling to rough out a flatter, better-draining surface.
Owners of single lots
Plenty of people have bought a wooded lot in or near town to build on. Lot clearing can be total, or it can leave a screen of trees at the edges for privacy and shade.
Rural landowners
West of town toward Lake Panasoffkee and out along the county roads, owners with acreage call us for land clearing, overgrown fence lines and new driveways. A forestry mulching head on our track machine handles brush and small trees in a single pass.

Sandy Ridges and Low Spots
Wildwood sits on a mix of higher sandy ground and low, wet areas that hold water after summer storms. Clearing on a sandy ridge goes quickly, but low spots can turn to mud after a few days of rain, so we watch the forecast and plan around it. Lightning is common in Central Florida summers, and we regularly remove pines that were struck and are dying from the top down, because they can drop limbs or fall without warning.
Sumter County and the City of Wildwood both have rules that may apply to clearing and tree removal, especially near wetlands. Check with them early; we can share what owners typically need to have ready.
Working With a Tampa-Based Crew
Our base in northwest Tampa is a straight shot up I-75, and Wildwood falls well within the 100-mile area we cover. We also work in The Villages, Bushnell and Leesburg, so crews are often nearby. Call any day of the week to book a free site visit, in English or Spanish. On site we flag the keepers, note the trees coming out, and hand you a written price that includes cleanup and haul-off.
