Dead tree being taken down in sections next to a home

Tree Removal & Trimming for Orlando Homes

Orlando's older neighborhoods sit under some of the biggest oak canopy in Central Florida, and newer suburbs have pines and palms growing close to the house. We focus on safe residential removals, careful pruning and fast cleanup after storms.

Big Trees, Small Yards

In places like College Park, Delaney Park and the streets around Lake Eola and Lake Ivanhoe, live oaks and laurel oaks planted generations ago now spread over roofs, power lines, fences and the neighbor's pool. There is rarely room to drop a tree in one piece. Instead, our crew uses a bucket truck and rigging to remove limbs and trunk sections in small, controlled pieces, lowering them to the ground where they are chipped or loaded onto our trailer.

That same approach works in the subdivisions off SR-408, SR-417 and the I-4 corridor, where homes stand close together and backyards are fenced. If a tree removal is not required, we would rather keep a healthy tree with good tree trimming: thinning heavy limbs, raising the canopy over the driveway and clearing branches off the roof.

Laurel Oaks, Water Oaks and When to Worry

Many of Orlando's shade trees are laurel and water oaks, which grow fast but often decay from the inside after 50 or 60 years. Watch for:

  • Mushrooms or conks at the base of the trunk
  • Large dead limbs in the upper canopy
  • Cracks where two main trunks split apart
  • A tree that has started to lean after heavy rain

Live oaks are usually longer lived and worth saving with good pruning. Under Florida Statute 163.045, once an ISA-certified arborist or a licensed landscape architect puts in writing that your tree is dangerous, a homeowner can take it down without a city permit. Any other removal should be cleared with the City of Orlando or Orange County ahead of time, and we are glad to walk you through the usual steps.

After the Storm

Orlando has seen how much damage a single hurricane can do to an urban canopy. Strong winds snap tops and limbs, and days of rain loosen roots in sandy soil. When a tree lands on a house, a car or a fence, call us. We cut it off the structure carefully, clear the driveway, and handle cut-up wood and limbs with our debris removal service. Our phones are staffed early morning through late evening, 6 AM until 10 PM, every single day.

Once things are safe, we come back to grind the stumps. Our stump grinding machines fit through most backyard gates, and where roots are lifting sidewalks or pool decks we offer root removal too.

FAQ

Orlando Tree Service & Land Clearing FAQ

How do you remove a large tree from a tight Orlando backyard?

We take it down in sections. Climbers or the bucket truck cut limbs and pieces of trunk, which are lowered with ropes so nothing falls on the house, fence or pool. Wood is carried out through the gate or over the fence with our equipment.

Should I remove my laurel oak or just trim it?

It depends on its health. A sound tree can often be kept with pruning. If it has major decay, a split trunk or a serious lean toward the house, removal is usually the safer choice. We will give you our honest opinion during the free estimate.

Do you haul away all the wood and branches?

Yes. Cleanup and haul-away are part of our tree removal and storm work unless you ask us to leave firewood or mulch on site.
