Lakes, Oaks and Wooded Homesites
Between US-41 and Dale Mabry Highway, and out along roads like Van Dyke and Lutz Lake Fern, Lutz is dotted with lakes and ponds. Lakefront homes usually have big live oaks and laurel oaks leaning toward the water for the light, cypress at the shoreline and a mix of pines and palms up by the house. These trees need regular trimming to keep limbs off roofs and docks and to clear lake views without harming the tree.
Leaning trees over the water or toward the house are a common concern. We assess the lean, the root plate and the condition of the trunk, then either reduce weight with pruning or recommend tree removal when the risk is too high.
Horse Properties and Small Acreage
Lutz has plenty of properties with a barn, a paddock or a riding ring. Horse owners call us to:
- Clear fence lines that have grown up with vines and brush
- Remove dead or leaning trees over paddocks and trails
- Open overgrown back acreage for more turnout space
- Grind stumps that are hazards to horses and mowers
For brush and small trees, forestry mulching and brush clean up open the land quickly without hauling off huge piles, while preserving the shade trees horses need in summer.

New Builds and Infill Lots
As north Hillsborough keeps growing, older Lutz parcels are being split and new homes are going up on wooded lots. Our lot clearing removes trees and brush from the building area while saving the best oaks wherever the plan allows, and stump grinding cleans up what is left in the yard area.
Builders appreciate a clean handoff: the pad and driveway corridor opened up, logs and brush gone, and the trees marked for saving still standing with their root zones protected from heavy traffic. If you are a homeowner adding a pool, a detached garage or a workshop, we can clear just that footprint and leave the rest of your wooded lot alone.
Lightning, Storms and North Tampa Bay Weather
Tampa Bay sees frequent summer lightning, and tall pines on Lutz lots are common targets. A struck pine may look fine for weeks before turning brown, and dead pines become brittle quickly. During hurricane season, saturated lakefront soil can also let large oaks tip. We handle emergency and planned removals, then haul off all the debris. We also serve nearby Land O' Lakes and Tampa.
